Mopamuroeaders support Tinubu, Ododo, seek Federal attention on Kabba–Egbe–Omuaran road

Leaders and stakeholders of Mopamuro Local Government Area of Kogi State, have declared their support for the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, while also expressing strong backing for the second-term ambition of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo.

The position was made known at the end of the Mopamuro Local Government Leaders Forum meeting, held under the chairmanship of Honourable Eric Fiki, which was attended by prominent political leaders, stakeholders and community representatives from across the Local Government Area.

In a communiqué signed by Hon Fiki, on behalf of Mopamuro Leaders Forum, and issued after the meeting, the leaders said their endorsement of President Tinubu, was based on their appreciation of his leadership and commitment to national development, as well as the positive impact of his administration on Kogi State.

The Forum also commended Governor Ododo, for what it described as laudable developmental strides in Mopamuro Local Government Area.

According to the leaders, the Governor’s administration has demonstrated commitment to the development of the area through ongoing projects and interventions aimed at improving infrastructure and security.

They particularly acknowledged the ongoing projects at the College of Education (Technical), Mopa, the construction of township roads in Mopa, and the remodelling of Government Day Secondary School, Takete Ide. They also applauded the administration’s sustained efforts in strengthening security across the Local Government Area.

In view of these achievements, the leaders unanimously declared their support for Governor Ododo’s second-term bid.

The Forum also joined other stakeholders across Kogi West Senatorial District, in appealing to President Tinubu to prioritize the rehabilitation of the Kabba–Egbe–Omuaran Road, describing it as a critical federal road that serves as a major economic and social lifeline for the people of the region.

The leaders further called for the revival and operationalization of the Gold Processing Plant in Mopa, noting that the facility, though completed, had not been put to use.

They stated that activating the plant would unlock significant economic opportunities, create employment for youths and stimulate local economic growth in the area.

The Mopamuro Leaders Forum reaffirmed its commitment to supporting policies and leadership that will promote peace, development and prosperity in Mopamuro Local Government Area and Kogi State as a whole.

The leaders also pledged their continued loyalty to the leadership of Governor Ododo and their readiness to align with his political direction in the interest of the state.
