From David Onuoja, Abuja

The newly elected Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Maikalangu, has donated a borehole to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council.

The donation was made during a courtesy visit by NUJ FCT Council representatives, who congratulated Maikalangu on his re-election victory.

Maikalangu while addressing the delegation, attributed his win to grassroots engagement, infrastructure development, and empowerment initiatives. He emphasised the importance of local politics, saying, “Politics is local; it is about the people at the grassroots, not just the city centres.”

He thanked the NUJ FCT Council, for their media support and unity within the All Progressives Congress (APC), which contributed to the high voter turnout. Saying the borehole donation underscores his commitment to collaborative development and engagement with stakeholders, including the media.
