Olimene Ata Igala pledges to champion peace, devt and unity

The Olimene Ata Igala Navy Commodore Godwin Obaje mni (Rtd), has pledged to use his new position to champion peace development and unity amongst Igala sons and daughters worldwide.

Godwin Obaje said this at the Palace of the Ata Igala, HRM, Matthew Alaji Opaluwa Oguche Akpa,  shortly after he was beaded with the traditional title, Olimene Ata Igala,(Doga).

According to him, the new title and position would spur him to ensure the sustenance and promotion of Igala culture, morals and values as a tool for unification of the entire Igala.

He further pledged to champion peace and development amongst Igala sons and daughters in Igala land and beyond.

The Olimene Ata Igala used the forum to appreciate HRM, Matthew Alaji Opaluwa Oguche Akpa for the title describing the honour as a call to serve.

Earlier, the paramount ruler of Igala Kingdom, HRM, Matthew Alaji Opaluwa Oguche Akpa , who is also Chairman of the kogi State Traditional Rulers Council, said the title bestowed on Navy Commodore, Godwin Obaje (Rtd) was in recognition of his contributions to community development and peace-building across the land.

The Ata charged him to serve as an ambassador of peace and development between the palace and the people. Just as he encouraged him to promote the rich traditional heritage of Igala Kingdom.
