From Joseph Adahnu , Yola

‎All Progressives Congress (APC), Adamawa State chapter, says by the end of December 2025, it will carry out the target of no fewer that 200,000 E-registeration of members across the state.

‎The party vow to make a major initiative toward building credible, technology-driven membership database that will eliminate ghost entries and strengthen the party’s electoral capacity ahead of the 2027 general elections.

‎Speaking in Yola, the State Secretary of the party, Dr. Raymond Chidama, said the digital registration exercise will revolutionise how the party manages its membership records and uses of data for planning, empowerment, and administrative decisions and that the party, has reviewed its registration requirements to make the process more transparent and electorally relevant.

‎According to him, ”Initially, the National Identification Number (NIN), was the primary requirement for registration, but the party has now made the Permanent Voter Card (PVC), the key prerequisite for enrolling as a member. The shift is a deliberate move because, any one without voters card has less business with the party since the APC’s ultimate interest is building a membership base that translates directly into electoral strength”.

‎Emphasising that, the database generated from the registration will serve as a critical resource, especially for empowerment programmes and palliative interventions, ensuring that only genuine and verifiable party members benefits. ‎“This digital system will help us know our genuine members, identify them accurately, and extend opportunities to the right people,” he said.

‎On his part, the State Organizing Secretary and Coordinator of the e-registration exercise in the state, Mustapha Atiku Ribadu, said the initiative became necessary after a careful review of the party’s voting performance compared to its membership claims.

He described the discrepancies as “ridiculous by every standard,” citing examples from both the national and state levels. APC at the national level claims to have over 50 million members, yet secured only about 8 million votes in the last presidential election.

‎‎He wondered why APC in Adamawa State, with more than 600,000 registered members, will only managed to deliver about 200,000 votes during the 2023 elections.

‎”This clearly shows the urgent need to weed out ghost members and retain only real, active, and committed individuals.” Saying the revalidation and upgrade of the membership register will help rebuild the party on a foundation of credibility and accuracy.

‎He said APC is determined to win future elections and will use the e-registration platform in building loyal, active, and verifiable support base. And pledging that, the party’s full cooperation with the newly formed Adamawa Elders Council, unity and transparency remain priority come 2027 general elections. “We want to win Adamawa State, and we will win.”
