Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has officially distributed 49 operational vehicles and motorcycles to heads of various local vigilante groups, to enhance their ability to combat crime and insecurity in the state.

Governor Ododo distributed the support items comprising 27 operational motorcycles and 22 vehicles at a ceremony held at Government House, Lokoja.

The further breakdown indicates that 27 motorcycles, 12 refurbished vehicles, and 10 new vehicles were presented to the security groups.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Governor Ododo stated that the gesture was part of his administration’s commitment to bolster communal security across the state.

He described the gesture as a significant step in the collective quest to build a safer and more secure Kogi State for residents and investors.

According, to him, the presentation marks yet another milestone of his administration’s collective efforts to safeguard lives , property and investments.

He noted that the interventions by the Kogi State Security Tust Fund was a further boost to the collective efforts to strengthen the security architecture of the state.

This event underscores the administration’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the effectiveness, efficiency and capacity of security agencies to respond to any security alert or acts of criminality in the State.
