The Kogi State Governor, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of the state, declaring that no distraction will deter his government from its mission of service and development.

Speaking through the Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon. Kingsley Femi Fanwo, during the Monthly Ododo Media Awards at the Ministry on Tuesday, the Governor emphasised that his administration remains focused on governance, results, and the welfare of the people.

Fanwo, who represented the Governor, said the Ministry’s new health initiative for Information Officers, which includes the provision of Blood Pressure (BP) and Blood Sugar Testing Kits, aligns with the Governor’s broader commitment to the well-being of workers and citizens alike.

“Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is focused on results, not rhetoric. His Excellency has said it clearly, his projects are his noise. We won’t be distracted from serving the people of Kogi State. Every sector of government is working in line with his vision to make governance impactful and people-driven,” Fanwo stated.

He noted that the Governor’s approach to leadership has created renewed confidence in government among the people of Kogi State, as communities continue to witness tangible development across sectors.

“From roads to healthcare, education, and rural development, the Governor is changing lives in real time. These are not ‘audio projects’; they are visible and already serving our people. Whenever the Governor visits communities, you can see the excitement and satisfaction on the faces of the people,” he said.

The Commissioner commended Information Officers for their professionalism in communicating the achievements of the Ododo administration, urging them to emulate the Governor’s example of discipline, focus, and compassion.

“The Governor’s people-oriented leadership has become a model for all ministries and agencies. His focus is clear, development first, politics later. As information officers, we must stay healthy, committed, and continue to project the success story of a government that truly serves its people,” he added.

The highlight of the event was the presentation of awards to outstanding Information Officers for their dedication and exceptional performance.

In his remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Celestine Idoko, mni, commended the Commissioner for institutionalising the Ododo Media Awards, describing it as a motivating platform that aligns with the Governor’s vision of rewarding excellence and promoting productivity in the public service.
