Alhaji Ammoka explained that the association was established to foster continuous interaction among retired clerks and their counterparts currently serving in the House of Assembly. According to him, the forum provides a platform for knowledge sharing, mentoring, and capacity building to strengthen legislative performance and institutional memory.

He emphasized that the association remains committed to offering its wealth of experience to support the Assembly in areas such as staff development, administrative reforms, and effective legislative operations.

The Chairman commended the Speaker for what he described as his “efficient handling of the affairs of the Assembly,” particularly his efforts in renovating the Assembly chambers that were gutted by fire, refurbishing offices, and improving staff welfare.

“These actions,” he said, reflect your determination to build a functional and efficient workforce capable of delivering quality service to the people of Kogi State. We consider your leadership approach as a great stride towards entrenching efficiency and productivity in the legislative arm of government.

While assuring the Speaker of the association’s continued support and cooperation, Alhaji Ammoka appealed for his intervention in facilitating the payment of gratuities owed to retired clerks and deputy clerks of the House.

He noted that the request, contained in a memo presented to the Speaker, seeks consideration and onward transmission to the Executive Governor of the State, His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, who has consistently demonstrated commitment to the welfare of workers and pensioners in the state.

The chairman also commended the harmonious working relationship between the Speaker, the Clerk, and Deputy Clerks of the Assembly, describing it as a reflection of effective and transformative leadership.

We are impressed by the robust synergy that exists between your office, the management staff, and members of the Assembly. This collaboration shows your dedication to inclusive governance and quality service delivery to the people of Kogi State, Ammoka stated.
