The Executive Chairman of Ifelodun Local Government Area, Hon. Abdulrasheed Yusuf, has stated that his administration has touched more than 100 communities with life-changing projects in its first year in office.
Speaking at a press briefing to mark his one-year anniversary in Ilorin, Hon. Yusuf, described the past year as a period of “transformative growth and visible impact,” stressing that his team has worked to complement the development agenda of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
“From the very first day, we made a firm commitment to ensure that development reaches every corner of our local government. In just one year, we have completed projects in health, water supply, road construction, security, agriculture, and youth empowerment,” he said.
Among the projects listed are; the construction of primary healthcare centres, solar-powered boreholes, road grading and expansion, provision of motorcycles to police stations for security patrols, installation of solar streetlights, and renovation of schools across different wards in Ifelodun.

He also noted the reactivation of the revolving drug scheme to ensure a steady supply of essential medicines in local healthcare centres.
The council chairman highlighted efforts to boost agriculture, including refurbishing four abandoned tractors and acquiring an additional one through ACRESAL, making a total of seven functioning tractors for farmers.
Forty livestock farmers, he added, also received training and equipment to boost productivity.
On security, he said his administration provided identity cards for traditional rulers to strengthen coordination in tackling threats posed by non-state actors.
He also commended the Kwara State Government and the Office of the National Security Adviser for their support in improving local security.
The chairman further disclosed that 41 students were sponsored to study health-related courses at the Kwara State College of Health Technology, Offa, with a plan to absorb them into the health sector upon graduation.
“We have executed projects that touch lives across all sectors, and they reflect our commitment to inclusive development,” Hon. Yusuf added.
“As we enter the second year, we are determined to do more in road construction, education, healthcare, and security. I call on all stakeholders to set politics aside and pray for lasting peace and prosperity in Ifelodun and Kwara State as a whole.”
Chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel, Abdulhakeem Garba, lauded the local government boss for his achievements, assuring him of continued partnership with the media.
“Let the whole world know what he has been able to do, and we assure you that we will continue to be friends and partners of the local government,” Garba said.
