The Michael Sumaila Audu’s Basketball and Educational Excellence Foundation (MSA BEE Foundation), basketball, recently hosted the second edition of it’s basketball clinic in Lokoja.

No fewer than 100 children participated in the three-day event, focusing on basketball fundamentals.

The program scouted talented players aged 8-18 from across the Kogi State capital at the Federal University Lokoja Basketball court.

The initiative, promoted and sponsored by a United Kingdom based basketballer,Michael Sumaila Audu, also featured a competition amongst teams within the camp.

Some of the major highlights of the grand finale held on Saturday, September 6th include the presentation of shoes and certificates to participants.

Even the parents were not left out as some smiled home with cash rewards during the adult game segments.

Speaking at the end of the 3-day event, the organizer ,Sumaila Audu, said the initiative was his own way of contributing towards enhancing the growth of the Nigerian youths.

According to him, his focus is to give back to society by curbing social vices amongst youths, promoting good health and wellness as well as encouraging more to embrace sports which is now a money yielding venture.

“I want to help reduce social vices. We know what’s happening in the society today, cultism, drugs, and so on. I want to be one of those people who helped kids channel their energy positively. So yes, this has been a long-time dream, and I’m grateful God is using me to give back to my community” he emphasised.
