Ogori-Magongo LGA seeks consideration for Okene/Ogori-Magongo Reps seat in 2027
Ogori-Magongo Lcal Government Area of Kogi State, is seeking consideration for the Okene/Ogori-Magongo Reps seat in 2027.
This appeal is based on the need for equitable representation and power sharing within the constituency.
In a letter of appeal signed by an illustrious son, Moses Adedeji, dated Wednesday 14 January, 2025 and addressed to Governor Ododo, and made available to Journalists in Lokoja, Adedeji noted that since the return of democratic rule in 1999, the Okene/Ogori-Magongo Federal Constituency, as recognized by the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended), has been represented exclusively by people from Okene Local Government Area, despite being jointly constituted by Okene and Ogori-Magongo Local Government Areas.
He called on Governor Ododo to intervene and allow the LG to produce the next occupant of the Federal House of Representatives seat in 2027.
Speaking further, Adedeji expressed absolute confidence in the fatherly wisdom, sense of justice, and commitment to equity, of Governor Ododo, saying that the community trusted that, the humble appeal will receive his kind and thoughtful consideration.
According to the appeal, the following individuals have represented the constituency since 1999; Hon. S. A. Sani (Okene LGA), 1999–2003, 2003–2007 : Hon.
